I was not planning to end up in Vic that night. Nobody plans to end up in Vic. But we typed weed near me into Google somewhere off the C-17 and that is how we found the best cannabis club in Vic. This is the honest version of how that happened.

A night that started badly in El Raval

We had come into Barcelona through El Raval, which if you know the city you know has always been the slightly gritty, slightly unpredictable part of town where the cannabis club scene has lived for years. We had a couple of spots in mind around Carrer de la Cera and towards Poble Sec. One had shut down entirely. Another was still there but the vibe had shifted, higher prices, more attitude, less of the thing that made it worth going to in the first place.

We tried one more near Paral·lel. Same story. After five years living in Spain I have learned to read a room pretty fast and that room was telling us to leave. The whole area around the old belt of clubs had gone from something that felt local and real to something that felt like it was performing a version of itself for whoever walked in. My friend and I had the same thought at the same time. We needed to get out of the city.

No plan, no battery, and a Falcanna vape on its last legs

We got in the car and just started driving north. No destination, no plan, and about halfway up the C-17 we started taking stock of exactly how badly equipped we were for the night. No edibles. The Falcanna Blue Dream 510 cart we had was basically dead. No charger. My phone was at four percent.

We managed one last proper pull each before the cart gave up entirely. One of those hits that feels like a great idea and then the road gets very dark very fast and you realise you have no GPS, no idea where you are, and your friend's phone just died too. Somewhere past Granollers, completely off the grid, coasting on a Blue Dream that hit harder than expected on an empty stomach.

The sign that changed everything: Vic

A road sign appeared in the headlights. Vic. We had heard of it, vaguely, the way you hear of places you have never had a reason to go. Cathedral town, weekly market, Osona comarca. That was the extent of our knowledge. We took the exit.

We parked near the Plaça Major, which is the main square and more or less the heart of the old town, and sat on a bench for a few minutes getting our bearings. Vic at night is quiet in the way that cities with a real population are quiet rather than empty. People actually live here. You can feel the difference.

Once my phone found enough signal to load Google I typed in weed near me. The Farm Social Club came up. Website looked real. Location was walkable. We went.

How we found The Farm Social Club in Vic

The Google result took us to viccannabisclub.com and what we found there was a proper club with a real web presence, clear information about how membership works, and a vibe that came through even on a phone screen. Not a WhatsApp number on a blank page, not a Facebook group that had not been updated since 2019. An actual operation that knew what it was doing.

The Farm Social Club: what we found inside

The Farm Social Club, cannabis club near Barcelona in Vic Catalonia

Inside The Farm Social Club in Vic. An atmosphere that feels more like a living room among friends than a service venue.

When we finally found the street the entrance was exactly what you expect from a well-run club in Catalonia. Discreet. No sign. If you do not know it is there you walk past it. We knocked. They let us in.

Inside it was the opposite of what we had left behind in Barcelona. No attitude, no performance, no sense that anyone was being evaluated at the door. People sitting around talking, a couple of guys on a PlayStation in the corner, a small group at a table going deep into a conversation about terpene profiles the way people talk about wine in other parts of Spain. The kind of room where you can actually relax.

One of the staff came over and we told him the short version of the night. Left Barcelona, lost our phones, ended up in Vic, found the club on Google. He laughed and said something along the lines of that being more or less how half their new members show up. We stayed longer than we planned.

Afterward we walked back through the old town toward the Plaça Major and found a bar still open near the market square. Catalan food at that hour, some pa amb tomàquet and a couple of cold beers. One of those nights that turns out better than anything you actually planned.

What makes The Farm Social Club different from Barcelona clubs

Most cannabis clubs near Barcelona are built around volume. High turnover, generic product, and an atmosphere that exists to serve the transaction rather than the people. The Farm takes a different approach entirely. Community first, quality product, and a space where people come back because they actually want to be there.

What you will find at The Farm Social Club

Handmade artisanal edibles. The Farm makes its own edibles from scratch using quality ingredients. Artisanal brownies, infused cookies, gummies, and exclusive club recipes. Members can participate in private edible tasting sessions, something you will not find at most clubs in the region.

Local Catalan cultivation. The club works with varieties grown right here in Catalonia using responsible and sustainable practices. Consistent quality, careful strain selection, and accessible pricing for the community. Nothing sourced from generic distributors.

Active social community. Board games, gaming tournaments, themed nights and member meetups. The community is the heart of the club, not an afterthought. This is the closest thing to the original spirit of the cannabis social club model that Spain built its reputation on.

Located on Carrer de Francesc Pla el Vigatà in the centre of Vic. Accessible from Barcelona in under an hour by car on the C-17, or by train from Barcelona Sants with Rodalies de Catalunya.

Between conversations with members and recommendations for nearby places to eat afterward we started to feel like we had found exactly what we were looking for without knowing we were looking for it. We were not looking for Vic. We were not looking for The Farm. But we found it anyway and it was exactly what that night needed.

Why leaving Barcelona for Vic is worth the trip

The Barcelona cannabis scene is large but it is also oversaturated. Too many clubs that prioritize volume over quality, too much member turnover, and too little sense of community. That is understandable given how much tourism Barcelona moves, but the clubs that have chased that market show it.

Vic is different. It is a university town with a real local population, which means the clubs that work here do so because the residents themselves respect and frequent them. The Farm is a good example of that. It does not depend on the tourist passing through for one night. It has members who come back because the atmosphere and the product are worth returning for.

If you have a car or are willing to take the C-17 from Barcelona, the journey takes under an hour and the difference in atmosphere justifies the trip. Vic itself is worth more than one visit. A medieval market town with a weekly outdoor market, good local gastronomy, and a human scale that Barcelona lost a long time ago.

How cannabis social clubs work in Spain

If this is your first time in Spain and the cannabis club system is new to you, here is the short version. Cannabis social clubs in Spain operate as private member associations. They are not dispensaries and they are not open to the general public. You cannot walk in without being a registered member.

The model works like this. The club is a non-profit association where members consume on the premises. You do not take product outside. Spanish law does not criminalize private adult cannabis consumption, and these clubs operate within that framework. Public consumption is penalized with fines between 500 and 1,000 euros, so everything happens inside the club.

To become a member you typically need to be of legal age, present a valid ID such as a passport, NIE or DNI, and follow the club's own registration process. Some clubs work by invitation from an existing member, others allow you to register directly through their website. The Farm operates by invitation which you can request at viccannabisclub.com.

Sometimes getting lost is the best part of the trip

If someone had asked me at the start of that night how it would end I would never have said Vic. We left El Raval with nothing working in our favour. But we ended up finding the best cannabis club in Vic by typing weed near me into a dying phone on a dark Catalan road. Sometimes the worst-planned nights are the ones worth writing about.
